Groupon right Here, right Now!

Groupon Now is a new mobile app (for iPhone and Android) from Groupon allowing users to find local daily deals in realtime. These deals can last from a few hours to a full day.

This is a great initiative for both businesses and customers. Companies won’t have to wait for their turn to display new deals, plus they can decide how long the deal will last. Shops and restaurants will also have the opportunity to quickly get rid of “left-overs” or fill their restaurant during quiet times. It offers a greater flexibility for them. As for customers, they will be able to find offers in their area.

When users will open up the Groupon Now app, they will see two buttons: “I’m hungry” and “I’m bored.” They’ll then get a bar code which the merchant will scan in order to have access to the deal. Pretty simple but pretty smart and efficient!

Unfortunately the app is only available in Chicago but hopefully it will soon invade the whole World. After the IPO announcement a few days ago, this new app should really give Groupon a big advantage over its tough rivals. Have a look at the demo below, it’s just perfect:
