Google vs Facebook, an endless storyWar has been officially declared between Google and Facebook! It’s like watching a boxing game between all these internet companies. Right uppercut, left uppercut… who will get knocked out? I wonder.
According to several rumors, Google will launch a new social network called Google Circle in May. In your Facebook! (I reckon that one was easy). Google social network should pay close attention to users’ privacy and offer a better platform than its rival with messaging, video and photo sharing , to a core group of friends rather than a large audience like with Facebook. We shall remain patient and wait until May to know more about the mysterious Google Circle…
So to get back at Google, Facebook is now announcing a Groupon-like service where users will be able to share deals with friends. The service will be first tested in the US and then reach the Facebook Deals program, which offers deals to members when they use Facebook Places to check in at local businesses. Facebook plans to promote these deals through its own sales team and several partners.
More tough news for Groupon now facing competition from both Google and Facebook. It’s like organised crime… At some stage, there will be so many sites offering the exact same services that we won’t know what to do. Obviously we can’t get enough deals so no bother, keep fighting!
